Oklahoma's SB 1589 has an effective date of Nov 1, 2026

What the enrolled bill says, and what we don't know about Clubs Poker in Oklahoma.

Oklahoma Senate Bill 1589 amends 21 O.S. Section 941, the state's gambling offense. Section 2 of the enrolled bill says: "This act shall become effective November 1, 2026." The governor vetoed the bill on May 7, 2026, and the Oklahoma legislature's bill page lists votes to override the veto in both chambers (Senate 34 to 10, House 68 to 19).

What the bill adds. It defines "online casino games" and a "representative of value" that includes "any and all currency used as part of a dual-currency system of payment that allows a person to exchange such currency for any prize, award, cash, or cash equivalent". The offense covers anyone who conducts or carries on "poker, roulette, craps" or other gambling games, including online casino games, for "money, checks, credits, or any representatives of value", and it lists a long set of roles that includes "promoter, or media affiliate". The penalty in the text is a Class C2 felony. We're quoting the bill, not interpreting it, and whether it applies to any particular site or to a publisher like us is a legal question we can't answer.

What we don't know. Clubs Poker's Sweepstakes Official Rules, updated Jun 30, 2026, don't list Oklahoma. We found no notice from Clubs Poker about what it will do in Oklahoma after Nov 1. So we don't say it will leave, and we don't say it will stay.

What we do. We don't show a Clubs Poker link to visitors who pick Oklahoma. The state picker explains that SB 1589 has an effective date of Nov 1, 2026. If Clubs Poker publishes something, we'll put it in the Thursday email. Sources: the bill page and the enrolled text linked below.
